Spiritus

Here is Spiritus a film that won Best In Festival and Audience Choice at the 2011 72 Hour Film Festival. It also took 3rd place in the Narrative Category at the 2011 Towson Media Arts Festival. It was a labor of love and hopefully you will all enjoy it!

48 Hour Film

So after the big success of the 72 Hour Film Festival at Towson University. Our group decided to join the 48 Hour Film Festival here in Baltimore, which will be from June 10 to 12. There are a lot of groups already registered and only more to come so it will be a big challenge but we are going to do our best and hopefully things will turn out for the best. The film that won the 72 Spiritus will be up on youtube this Friday so everyone will be able to check that out.

In addition this summer I will be starting a brand new webseries which will start in June and hopefully run straight through to the end of August. I am going in a different direction and you will see shortly, but know it will be good.

Check out my other group members work and give them support as well.

Hector Khuon
Mairo Ferreira
Tony Fazio

That is all for now,

SPIRITUS Updates!

So this Friday the promo for Spiritus will be going up on youtube for your viewing pleasure. Also here at Towson University the film has been selected as a finalist in the category of narrative film in the annual Media Arts Festival which is our big year end celebration showing off the best of the best in Towson student filmmaking. So wish us luck!

The semester is almost over and my grades are hit or miss at least to me right now but there are still finals to take. This summer though a new webseries is in preproduction so more details on that as well but trust me it will be a bold new thing for To Tony Productions. So don't forget....promo friday and new webseries coming soon.

Check out the youtube.

Thanks so much,
Dan H.

And the winner is....

Last weekend was Towson University's 3rd annual 72 Hour Film Festival. Myself and a group of 3 friends (Hector Khuon, Mairo Ferreira, and Tony Fazio) joined in to produce a short film 4-7 minutes long in a matter of 3 days. It was a sleepless weekend filled with frustration and anxiety for what was to come. However we got it done and made a film entitled Spiritus.

On Thursday we had the big premiere where all the groups got to show off their work. Entries dropped by about half this year since only 6 groups had a finished film to show where as last year there were about 13. Our film was played 5th and even through some glitches during playback it still looked really well done.

The audience voted for which film was their favorite and the judges did as well. After a ten minute break everyone sat back down for the announcement. In 3rd place was American Animals a film by Jeremy Tan and Sam Shank. In 2nd place was Charm City a film by Matlock Bobechko. Finally the first place winner........SPIRITUS! We jumped for joy running down to grab the trophy and take pictures!!!! After screaming and yelling the audience choice selection was made.....SPIRITUS! We were again taken back by this and came down yelling and screaming.

After all the hard work and everyone doing what they had to do and doing it great we took the fest and the audience choice! It was an honor, a priviledge, and a great moment to be recognized for making a great film.

Thank you all,
Daniel Hess

Truly Amazing!

In my life I have been so fortunate to have received so many great opportunities but tonight is a night that is truly special to me. Over the past almost 2 years now I have been working hard to push my films and all that hard work is truly paying off. I have to thank so many people but especially all the guys at Mania Music Group for believing in me when I had really nothing to show except for a short film and a lot of passion. Since working with them I have landed so many more opportunities but none as great as this...

Tonight actual footage that I shot at a concert with Kane Mayfield will be featured on national television. The program is called Keeping it Real and it plays at 1am. Thanks to this connection I even shot an episode of the show that will be aired sometime in the future. In less than two years this is truly truly truly amazing! I can not believe I have made so much progress and been able to do so much. I am truly blessed.

Thank you so much for what you do,
Daniel Hess

Kane Mayfield and GreyMatter

This video was taken from Baltiwar 2011. It is a friendly mic pass between Kane Mayfield and GreyMatter. Really good freestyles from the both of them. Check it out and enjoy!

Going a different direction

I got a new logo if you haven't noticed yet. It was designed by my awesome cousin Dusten Wolff absolutely free of charge. He did a great job and a video intro for the logo is soon to come...yet another thing I can't wait to show you guys!

My youtube page has been getting rapidly bigger since I started uploading re edits and a few cool videos. I even got my third video partnered (A Graduation Story). So for that I have to say thanks again to you guys the fans.

On that note though this summer break I am going to start uploading videos with a different type of feel. I am going to travel into territory I have yet to explore. I have every intention of uploading a new video every week like the True Docs series last summer. I don't want to give away too much yet, just know it will be extremely different.

Also I am closer than ever at getting new lenses so this summer I guarantee that you will see that in my new videos...so better quality HD videos for you guys!

Thanks,
Daniel Hess

A Graduation Story

A heartwarming and uplifting story of a young woman (Ashley Saville) on her high school graduation day. Please watch and let me know what you think.

2nd Video Partnered

So this week I got my second video partnered with youtube. My latest upload 5 Crew Dynasty vs. Toxsick & Stelf was enlisted in the partner program, after only 3 days of being live online. This is amazing news because the more individual videos I have partnered with youtbe, the higher my odds of getting a complete partnership with them in the future.

The next bit of good news is that I should have another video going up next week which is a freestyle microphone pass between Kane Mayfield and GreyMatter, which was recorded at the same event as the dance...Baltiwar 2011.

Finally I am about $600 away from getting my new lenses and lens adapter but at the rate in which I am saving I will not be able to get anything until after summer...which is where you guys come in. If you want to donate anything please go to the secure paypal page to do so or buy some merch from the store. All proceeds go to future projects so I am not making some kind of money from this, this is only to support my films.

5 Crew Dynasty vs. Toxsick & Stelf

Awesome B Boy battle from Baltiwar 2011! This is the final round featuring 5 Crew Dynasty vs. Toxsick and Stelf. Really was a close call but you can see for yourself who deserves to win.

Kane Mayfield and The Perfect Fifth

A truly awesome performance of the song "Wreck," by Kane Mayfield; live at Ottobar! He brings so much amazing energy to each song and individual performance but this one has to be one of my favorites, from the awesome audience involvement to the great live vocals.

New Details

So over here at To Tony Productions we are about $700 short of our goal to get a lens adapter and new Canon L lenses (for now at least just one). Over the next month hopefully we will be able to have enough to get the equipment. At this point I honestly thought we would have enough but since we decided to go with The Redrock Micro M3 adapter that has changed.

It has been a busy month of filming about 4 concerts in one month including 2 Kane Mayfield shows, Unlisted After Death show, and Baltiwar!

In other news I personally have been developing a really cool screenplay in my screenwriting class that I may turn into a whole script, I think it has enough intrique in it to capture the attention of studio executives but hopefully it will clear the whole budget issue (it is definetely a big budget picture to say the least). All about machine and human interactions in an alternative future.

Finally I am here to say again that if you can please donate to To Tony Productions we appreciate the support and every little bit counts.

Thank you,
Daniel Hess
