So...Hey!

Long time no post from me, sorry on that. I have been drained trying to get myself caught up on all kinds of different projects. Currently I have been working a production company based in Towson, Md on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I am still getting used to that. Also I am getting the music video finished up for Wesley Spangler entitled Three Beers Later, I am all done the color correction and editing...as far as right now I am just waiting for final approval from him. Also I have another client who I did a big photo session for like two weeks ago and I am still waiting on the photos to edit from him. Also I did a shot with a local budding model last Sunday which I will start editing after I get a list of favorites from her. I have been fully immersed in all things video which is great in some ways and also not so great in others, but at the end of the day I am happy to be working.

Random Movie Fact: In the 2005 film Domino, thanks to Gusmano Cesaretti, Michael Mann's regular collaborator, Tony Scott managed to get on screen real-life gang bangers from 18th Street Gang in East Los Angeles.

Side Work

This weekend was all about side work. On Saturday I filmed 2 monologues for a local actor from the DMV area. He did a great job and the monologues turned out awesome for what he was looking for. I finished up the DVD menus and all just a few minutes ago and tomorrow will be shipping it out to him. It was great to work on a small project like this and to get to know another local actor. It is great that I have been able to work with so many actors on something other than a film set, a lot more relaxed.

I am still on the verge of completion of Love is Undead and now that I got my Tascam DR-100 field recorder I can record the zombie vocals for the film. After that it is just a matter of making them work and then getting it all done. I am very excited to have it all finished up!

In a final bit of news tomorrow I am going to try to record a little short clip to promote donations for my upcoming film Voicebox. My goal is to get $3,000 to $3,500 dollars but I would be just happy with anything over $1,000 just to be able to pay crew. I don't know how things are going to go and I am very nervous so we will see.

Nap Time

What I wouldn't give right now to take a long nap...nah I wanna keep working hard. Today I had work all day and really wasn't up to much video content however I did just make my first experimental film which I feel like a lot of people had a good response too in class. In fact I think I may upload it and put it on vimeo tonight. I think it was pretty good, I just hope no one takes offense to it.

In other news I am still trying to finish up the treatment for Kane Mayfield's next video, which after a long talk yesterday with him the whole original treatment has been scrapped to the side in favor of something more inspirational. I still like it and think it works, it wasn't my first choice but the first option was much too dark, because that is how I always write stories it seems. I also spiced up Voicebox a bit by adding some much needed awkward humor to the film which I think will work out really well in the whole story.

Tomorrow I am filming a monologue for an actor from VA which will be fun and the rest of the day is dedicated to spending time with my girlfriend Ashley because we haven't had a day together in like forever, and I guess tomorrow doesn't even count because of the video work. Oh well I guess it looks like it is the closest we will get for a little while.

Chad Fehr Headshots

I feel like I am spoiling you guys this is my third day of new content in four days but that will be it for a little bit I am afraid. These are the final edits of the headshots I did for another local actor Chad Fehr. He is a great guy that was very easy to work with, he landed the poses before I even asked him to which was great. 2 Photoshots 1 Day

So in a few hours I will be attending to the first photoshoot of the day and the first photo session since August of last year...it has been a while. I am doing headshots for an actor making the trip all the way up from VA which is pretty awesome for me. I am going to be working with him for about an hour or maybe even two at noon until the next actor has his session at 2pm which will go until 3:30 at the very latest...I hope thanks to work today. The second session wants headshots as well as doing a monologue reading which makes things a little more complicated but in both circumstances I am getting paid so I will work diligently for both actors. I hope after getting through these two actors I can have more photo work so I can do more headshots, because I am just trying to offer quality work for a price that is insanely cheap ($75 for unlimited photos/touch up). It is not because I suck or at least I hope I don't it is just because actors are hard working and money is hard to come by. I am not trying to run a scam on them, I am trying to help them out by providing an essential service at a low price.

As long as it all goes well today things should be picking up soon on the photography end of things. That would be awesome!

Finishing Touches

So today I was adding some last minute touches on the music video and actually just a few minutes ago I sent out what I think should be the final cut of the video to the guys at the studio. At the request of the owner I added a few things that I was hesitant to at first but thanks to his encouragement I did which was the last little punch it needed to take it from average to awesome. I was glad to have made the final adjustments and can't wait to show it off, all anyone has been saying about the video is that they like it so I am very happy.

Also today I showed my cousin and aunt the final edits of the pictures I took of my little cousin back in August. It was a lot of work to get through so many pictures but they were happy with the end result and I was too which was great. After my cousins approval I am going to be uploading the final edit of those pictures tomorrow in my post so that everyone can see. I hope everyone likes what I have done and that it will help me to get future work with pictures. We will see.

My final piece of information is that I am talking with an actor concerning headshots and if all goes well I will have a paid gig and even more photography experience.

Head Shot Special

I have noticed that a lot of places charge a pretty good chunk of change to do actors headshots, which I think is pretty ridiculous. I have always been one to think of art as something more of an exchange but in some ways I have to abandon that notion if I do wanna actually make a living, so I thought of a pretty good in between. The answer for me was to only charge $50 to do head shots and edit the photos. The only part I am leaving to you the people is printing, but I will cover pretty much everything else. For $50 you are getting professional level photos which I can promise you will be happy with.

Never a Dull Moment

Well yesterday was day 3 of filming Love is Undead and on one hand it was the best day of filming so far, on the other it was a bit of a let down.

The good news is we got another like 1/4th of the movie done which is awesome!

The bad news is we did not get done which was horrible, because of one little incident. During filming we were about to go on lunch break and the kitten we are using the film was in the garage with us. One of the actors that was filming with us opened the doors without remembering the cat was in there with us still. When the owner of the cat (Ashley) came back she thought it was gone because we couldn't find it anywhere. For the next two hours we looked and looked. After that I had to let everyone go because my actress had to find her cat and we weren't going to be able to get anything done.

After 6 hours of searching I let my dog out in the garage again to see if she could sniff out the cat and she started freaking out. Lo and behold there is the cat still in the garage somehow and somewhere hiding. So just as we were giving up we got her back which is awesome but we have to schedule one more day of shooting.

This film I feel will turn out well but I just wanted to get it done like yesterday. But we can't win them all and that is why there is never a dull moment.
