Working Double

So for a while there I had a strong aversion to doing anything related to freelance work...I just wanted a break for a while because of the minimester and work. Now that I have had my week vacation I have gotten my mojo back so to speak and I am ready to work my butt off! This Saturday I am trying to set up 2 more photo sessions in addition to what should be 2 already, official booking my whole day. If all goes according to plan I would be doing engagement photos as well as 3 headshot sessions for local actors. We will see though, that is more of a best case scenario.

Not only that but getting off my butt and editing the video for Hello by Kane Mayfield really helped me to get a project done and feel good about it. All of my past independent projects have either turned into nightmares or just not happen at all and to finally finish one felt good; it made me feel something I haven't felt in a long time with filmmaking and reinspired me in a strange way. Hopefully before the 10th of February I can get Love is Undead finished up but I don't know considering that I have to still do a lot and the special fx required in this film are my biggest obstacle since I have yet to perfect the art of the blood splatter. I will do my best though.

Things Are Picking Up

So today is the end of my first week of the minimester. It has been hard sitting through 5 hour classes but I am getting the hang of it. My first day I was ready to give up but by today I feel a new sense of energy especially since I talked to my teacher after class yesterday. At first it was about lighting but then it turned into different thoughts on college and life afterwards. He even told me about some productions coming into town soon which was pretty bad ass.

Also I am pretty firm that shooting of the samurai film with take place either January 14th or 15th. I am hoping for the 15th because I get out of work early in the day and the 14th is another show for Kane Mayfield and I really want to go to the concert. Not only to get footage from that but also because it is in DC and if we can spend the day getting awesome shots around the DC area for the video that should be it for the music video.

Also in about a half hour I am leaving to go up to my friend Everett's to get my hard drive back which has been a long time coming but I am glad to finally get it. Oh and also I will be getting the computer back for the the third time on Friday which again is awesome because it is finally in working order!

Feeling Better

Well this weekend and last night have made me feel much, much, much, much better. I went over to my friends house last night and within five seconds he was able to retrieve the memory off of my hard drive which has been my biggest worry all this time since my computer crashed out. I am so thankful that he was able to help me even though it kept him up late and he had to get up early today. If he missed class then my apologies to him.

Now that I got that out of the way I can go back to concentrating on my samurai video, which is still coming together. The crazy sword for it as well as the ninja costume should be shipping in tomorrow, as far as the samurai costume it hasn't even been processed yet which is worrying me since I ordered it on Friday. I emailed the company and hopefully it will all be resolved soon. Other than that I have principal photography coming up on the 14th and then the shoot on the 17th. I hope to have a fitting day for both actors sometime this week coming up if I can get all the costumes in.

Also after Friday I should be able to give my friend all the computer and have a new build sometime early next week, depending on how fast he can put it all together. Either way all the loose ends that seemed to be impossible to fix are getting fixed, thanks to good friends.
