Here is the third entry in the Almost Certain unplugged video series. This next entry is the song Slide by the Goo Goo Dolls. We had the pleasure of helping to film these videos alongside [kp] mag studios. Enjoy!
Random Movie Fact: In the 2005 film Asylum, when Paramount Pictures secured film rights to the book in 1997, the original plan was to bring Stephen King and Jonathan Demme on board as, respectively, screenwriter and director.

Defender's Day
So yesterday I took a bunch of pictures of Defender's Day at Fort Howard State Park. It was my first year going and it was a cool experience. I hope next year I can stay until the actual battle but this year was still a lot of fun. Posted below are the pictures from the event for you consideration, let me know what you think.
Random Movie Fact: In the 2005 film The Squid and the Whale, Noah Baumbach originally wanted Wes Anderson to direct but Anderson convinced Baumbach to direct it himself, due to the film being very personal to Baumbach.

Rough Cut 1
Well I got through an initial rough cut of Voicebox and showed it to my professor yesterday and he really liked it. He felt like the pacing was on spot and it looked very professional which is what I have been striving for with this film. I did not get a whole rough cut just the first 9 minutes of the film but so far it is coming together nicely.
Today I cleaned up some of the rough spots in the initial edit and also changed a few things around to make it make more sense. In addition I almost got to be a DP today on a set but apparently the client backed out last minute so I wasn't able to go (it would have been paid too). Anyway, I talked a guy about the possibility of doing some commercial work which would be paid and I hope that can work out. Also, I am going to try to go up to the flea market tomorrow to start selling all my junk, I am hoping to clean up house to have room for my growing film supplies. I am also working with my cousin to try to get some inexpensive shirts made so I can start handing them out/selling them to people.

So...
As an update to yesterday's post once I got to school things got even better. In my Fiction since WW2 class our first big paper got pushed back to April 10th from April 5th. Then after that I had my Film and Literature class but our teacher was over 20 minutes late to class so everyone made a collective f*ck it and we all wrote our names on the board to say we came then we left. So it was quite the easy start to coming back to school after break. It was a nice and fortunate day for me. I hope this streak continues for me.
Onto other news my DP and Sound Guy just got back from their trip in Europe so I will be talking to them shortly either today or tomorrow to get all the dates officially marked down for film Voicebox. From that point I hope I can still rent some nice lenses to pair with the 5d Mark III we are going to be using for filming. Lets hope all goes well though.
Final bit of information here I am going to be making my next experimental film today so on Friday I will hopefully be posting that to Vimeo for everyone to check out. It is going to be a little while until my next short narrative piece comes out or at least until I finally get off my butt and finish Love is Undead which I have to do soon, I just can't bring myself to do it for some reason.

The Chase Is Back
Well tomorrow I have an interview lined up for another internship which I was hoping to be paid but it seems like it will be fore college credit which I am fine with just as long as I can get an internship really. Being paid while interning would have been amazing but getting college credit for it is pretty cool too. Just excited to be getting so close to real world experience, plus it will get me away from my job now which couldn't suck much harder (but that is another topic).
In addition I have to contact a member of a production company here in Maryland next week by phone to set up an interview for an internship opportunity as well. Out of the two this is the one I would rather get because it is a production company which means I could get on set experience, the other place is more for photography which is awesome but at the same time I am trying to get into the video field. Either way it will be great to have an internship.
On Sunday I got down a rough cut of Love Is Undead and it is looking like it is going to be a little over 4 minutes long, but a very solid four minutes which I am very proud of. The ending is the part I like the best but the whole film is pretty sweet too. I am very proud of all the work my cast and crew put into this film as well as the way everything has turned out. We may have had a lot of delays with this film but sh*t happens for a reason and it is working out for the best. Soon I want to have a more fine cut, then a fine audio cut, next color correction, then visual/audio fx.
